How’s Your Vision for 2020?

Have you heard the saying, “Change your habits, change your life?”

Many people have set goals and resolutions. What does 2020 look like for you? Are you off to a good start? Is there something you want to improve upon, create, accomplish? Hopefully, they’re still going strong. We have the best intentions, don’t we? We start off great, then come February or March, we kinda fizzle out.

Well in order to change you have to make change a priority. You have to determine that you want change more than you want to stay the same. We should always be trying to get to a better version of ourselves. This year, be determined to make a change and ask someone to come along side you for encouragement and coaching. A spouse or best friend or someone who wants to achieve the same goal as you is the best place to start. (And if you still can’t find someone, you can always ask me. Just send me a comment. I’d be happy to help.) In my experience, and from what I’ve read, people do well when they stick to a routine and have someone to help keep them accountable.

Nature is full of routines that we can count on. Spring, summer, winter and fall always show up. There are always 24 hours in a day. The calendar is always the same- 7 days in a week, 12 months in a year. We are accustomed to routines. So why not in our daily lives? Children love routines. They feel secure when they have a set schedule for eating and sleeping. We should too.

This year, let’s get to setting up some routines. Here are a few ideas: Get up a little earlier. Spend some time in prayer and reflection. Get out a journal and write down your thoughts. Get a planner and plan out your day. Get into a routine. Plan your meals for the week. Make a list of things you want to accomplish and set some action steps in getting it done. Eat dinner at home more often. Do the dishes together. Read a good book in the evenings. Have a game night with the family. Go to bed at a decent time.

Start slowly. Pick one or two things and begin. Once they become habits you can add more. Here’s a habit tracker worksheet to get you started. Go You!

This year my goals are to work on some products for this business and I’m focusing on my health by taking my vitamins on a regular basis and incorporating stretches into my morning routines, including drinking more water. How’s your vision of what 2020 could be for you?

If you need some encouragement or coaching, send me a message or email. I’d be honored to help. Best wishes and God bless.
