Enthusiasm For Life!

Give me a beach, warm temps and some water and I’m good to go!

How’s your enthusiasm for life? Isn’t it just amazing? Do you get up in the morning, ready to take on the challenges and experiences in store for you? Are you thankful to be alive? I sit up, put my feet on the floor and say, “thank you, Jesus, for another day!”

Do you know people who are upbeat about everything? They always seem to have a positive or encouraging word, a bounce in their step. Do you ever wonder where they get their energy and zest for life? Don’t you want some of that?

When we were young, we had it. As we grew older, the world and culture just seemed to gradually steal it from us. Children are a great example of enthusiasm. They get excited about everything. It doesn’t take much for them to leap for joy. We can get it back. Just like everything else I teach, enthusiasm is a discipline. That’s right, I said discipline.

Enthusiasm is an energy that comes from appreciating what you have. Being content in every situation. Grateful for everything you’ve been given. It’s an excitement for what life brings—a positive outlook. Because truth be told, there are a lot of people around the world who have it a whole lot worse than we do. But somehow, they are still are enthusiastic about their lives and hopeful for the future.

Enthusiasm is about giving your best with joy because you know you’re giving it your all. It’s about doing things with energy and a smile even when you may not feel like it. It’s about treating every job, every person, as important. Going all out because people appreciate the effort. Anticipating the best outcome for each situation that is to come. Preparing for the best. Dealing with the worst. You keep going and trying. You don’t give up after the first failure, or the second, but learn from each experience.

Pain, sorrow and loss are all a part of life. There are going to be times when we are sad, hurt or frustrated. But we can’t hang on to them. We feel them, deal with them, experience and learn from them, then move on. Because life is still worth living!

Enthusiasm comes easy for me. Recently, I’ve become enthusiastic about writing this blog. To write something that will help someone, encourage someone to live a better life and be a better person gets me excited! I am enthusiastic about being a wife, mom, and now a grandma. My job is a blessing. I can’t imagine my life without any of it. I feel complete and full of life.

I’m also a person of faith. All of these things are gifts from God designed just for me. I feel so loved, how could I not be enthusiastic about life? It’s simply amazing. And if He’s done this for me, He will do it for you, too. Just sayin’.

Here’s an enthusiasm worksheet I created to help get you on the bandwagon. Download and print it off. Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

There’s a bonus blog coming this week for my email subscribers! If you aren’t signed up yet, there’s a sign up block at the end of this post if you scroll down a little. I promise I won’t send you any advertisements or spam. You can unsubscribe at the bottom of any emails I send.
