How confident are you? Do heads turn when you walk into a room? Do people pay attention when you speak? Do you feel like you could conquer any situation or problem that comes your way? You can! It’s all about having confidence.
If you can’t believe in you, who can you believe in? You have to believe that you are worth it. Confidence comes from a belief deep inside your soul. A belief that you can accomplish what you set out to do. God has a plan for your life, one for you to prosper and to succeed. You just have to believe that you can. You have to be willing to put in the work. Go all in and be confident in your ability to get it done.
Confidence is a game changer. It is the difference between getting a job and not getting a job. Employers look for people who are confident in their ability to get things done and solve problems. Confidence is also important when it comes to having and building relationships with others.
Here are 10 steps to improve confidence:
- Look people right in the eye.
- Give a good firm handshake.
- Speak clearly and in a comfortable tone.
- Be prepared. Do some research. Ask good questions.
- Don’t be distracted. Give others your full attention.
- Have great self-talk. Don’t put yourself down.
- Be encouraging and positive.
- Visualize yourself achieving the goal that you want.
- Look for solutions to problems instead of excuses.
There’s a difference between being confident and being obnoxious.. Someone with a big ego is just blowing smoke. They may make some big claims but they don’t back anything up with actions. The confident person puts his money where his mouth is. Someone with confidence can be trusted.
A person of confidence knows who they are and they like themselves. They also like other people. They take a genuine interest in what others are saying. They are great at conversation.
Confidence is a skill that can be learned, if you are willing to try. You will be amazed at how far you can go when you acquire confidence. It just takes a little practice. So like everything else we talk about on this blog, get out your journal or planner. Start scheduling some confidence in your day. Practice these habits for 21 days and see if you don’t feel more confident. Ask your friends if they notice a difference in you.
