The 100 Day Challenge

100 of anything seems like a lot, doesn’t it? Well, this is my 100th blog post and I’m making it a 100 day challenge for those of you who follow along. For the past 100 weeks, I’ve been writing about personal development. I believe everyone has it in them to be a better person. Living life to the fullest is about being a better person today than you were yesterday. So in honor of my 100th blog, I’m issuing a challenge.

Take Action

Over the next 100 days, I’m challenging each of you to grab your calendars and planners and hit the ground running. Not physically, because, that might be too much work! lol. But I’ve listed some things below that may inspire you and give you ideas about how to become a better person and live life more fully, if you will commit to doing it. Won’t you join me? Many of these ideas came from the 100 blogs I’ve written. Leave a comment below if you are up for the challenge. 100 days will take us to October 15.

100 Day Challenge Ideas:

  • Hold the door open for someone at the store.
  • Let someone go ahead of you in the checkout line.
  • Take a walk around the block. Take your spouse or a friend. Say hello to everyone outside.
  • Create a morning routine. Pray. Read. Enjoy some silence.
  • Say ‘mornin’ dear’ to your spouse and kids. See what looks you get.
  • If your kids are grown, call them or FaceTime them before work. It’ll make their day.
  • Pick up some weights and put them down. Repeat. Get in the habit of doing some type of exercise if only for 10 minutes a day. Just do it.
  • Take vitamins or supplements. Vitamin C and calcium or Vitamin D is a good place to start.
  • Eat a good breakfast. It is fuel for the day.
  • Smile more, even when driving around town by yourself. Do you ever see people’s faces when they are in their cars?
  • Turn off the TV. Unless it’s a Red’s ballgame. They are playing well this year.
  • Go to a baseball game!
  • Clean your house. When you live in an uncluttered environment, life seems a little calmer. I have a checklist that I will post on the Worksheets page.
  • Keep a positive attitude.
  • Track you calorie intake. Cut back on the sweets.
  • Drink more water.
  • Go to church on Sunday. Don’t have one? Find one!
  • Stop swearing for 100 days.
  • Get on the ground and pull weeds by hand. This will strengthen muscles you haven’t used in a while. You’ll be sore, but keep at it. Make sure a family member can help you get back up if needed.
  • Have people over to your house for a meal. Share food. Build relationships.
  • Use coupons at the grocery. Keep track of how much you saved, then buy yourself a little something to celebrate your savings.
  • Learn a new skill or hobby. Crocheting, sewing, and painting are fun ways to pass the time.
  • Write 100 affirmations. 100 positive statements. Say them often to yourself. Build confidence.
  • Write down 100 things you are thankful for.
  • Send a note or letter to a friend.
  • Go to lunch with someone you love.
  • Go to the library and take out some books.
  • Read ‘The Hundred Dresses’ by Eleanor Estes to your kids or grandchildren.
  • Make a bucket list of all the things you’d like to see or do in your lifetime.
  • Listen to your favorite music.
  • Go to a concert.
  • Give to a local charity.
  • Volunteer at your local YMCA or similar youth organization.
  • Visit people in nursing homes.
  • Read a good book. My favorite is The Rhythm of Life by Matthew Kelly. It changed my life.
  • Do a small group book or Bible study.
  • Go camping! Rough it. It’ll make you appreciate air conditioning and electricity.
  • Go to sleep tonight thanking God for the perfect day.
  • Pick up trash in your neighborhood.
  • Declutter one room in your house.
  • Mend a relationship. Call a long distance friend or relative.
  • Tell someone you love them.
  • Watch someone’s children for an hour or two to give the parents a break.
  • Step outside your comfort zone. Try rock climbing!
