The Best is Yet to Come

You can be anything you want to be, it’s true.

Do you believe it? Do you look at your life expecting things to get better every day? Most of us don’t. A lot of us complain about our situations and blame others for the things that don’t go right. Don’t get me wrong, there are bad things that happen to good people and bad people, but it’s all in how you perceive your life to be that makes the difference. You have to always believe the best is yet to come and then be grateful when it does.

Have you ever worked in a job that you just hate? I don’t know, maybe you are still there. –I hope not. Life is too short! I worked a few bad jobs when I was younger and I tended to blame others for my day. But then I realized, it was just my attitude. I didn’t like what I was doing. When you get a good job, you realize just how important your health and well-being really is. You realize that working a job you like helps to keep stress at bay. Life at home goes smoother when life at work is good.

I’ve been working now for 10 years at a job that I absolutely love! The team that you work with and the environment you work in can make a difference, too. Working with or for people who are good at what they do and love what they do, will rub off on you. But I’ve also learned, it’s mainly about my attitude. I must go in to work expecting the day to be the best. I must also go in expecting to give people my best because if they have the best day, that’s good for me too.

You also need to be in God’s will for your life. He has a plan for all of us. That plan is to love and serve Him and give Him our best. That’s how to live life to the fullest. Are you in relationship with Christ? Do you have a church that you attend regularly? Pray about it. He calls us all to live life as His children, in awe and wonder, always believing the best is yet to come.

All this to say, that God knows what we need when we need it. He gives it to us in heaps if we are looking for Him in it. Look for Him, expect Him to always be giving you His best.

Action Steps

Life is too short to stay in a job that you don’t like, with people who don’t like you or are unhappy in their jobs as well. I’ve always told my children: Find something you like to do and do it well. Give it your all. And then try to make a living doing it. There are so many opportunities in this country to make a living doing just about anything. You don’t have to make a lot of money to be happy. Just enough to pay the bills and put food on your table. Learn to be grateful and content in all things.

Get out a sheet of paper. Make a list of jobs that you think would be great for you. Think of something you’d love to do. It’s never too late to start. Write beside those jobs any training or schooling they would require. Go and talk to people who actually do those jobs and ask questions. Make a list of hobbies that you have or would like to have. Sometimes hobbies are businesses in the making. Get the training you need then step out in faith. Don’t be afraid to try something new. But do it with the expectation and the attitude that the best is yet to come, then do it with all your heart.

Thanks for following along. I appreciate your time. Share this with someone who is struggling with believing that the best is yet to come.

God bless.–Barb
